Treat Greeting cards by Shutterfly

I love getting mail and it’s even more fun when I get something that isn’t a bill… you know like a card or a letter. Something special from someone who took a few minutes to think of me and find that perfect card. Likewise, I like browsing through all the cards and finding one that I think really fits the occasion and the person that I’m buying it for.

Once in a while though I get behind or forget. Well, I may have found a solution for that! Shutterfly has a new service called Treat.

treat

Treat is Shutterfly’s exciting new greeting card brand that makes it easy for people to create and send one-of-a-kind greeting cards. The cards are perfect for holidays, birthdays, congrats, thank yous and every occasion in between and what’s even better is that you create the personalized card and then they will send it for you! It’s not an ecard service… they’re real cards!

I have a great deal for you too! I have an offer for one free Treat card good only today and tomorrow (Monday 11/19 & Tuesday 11/20)! All you need to to do is use this special code, TREATBLOGR, and you’re all set.

I was compensated for this post but I really do love greeting cards… all thoughts & opinions are my own.

Shutterfly Holiday Card Giveaway!

Well, it’s that time of the year again… family pictures and Holiday Cards! I don’t have to tell you that the family pictures are probably the most stressful event of the year too… or is it just me?

Here’s how it goes at with my family.

1. Set up the appointment with multiple times during the day because we don’t know what the weather is going to be like.
2. Start scouring the internet for outfit ideas (this takes a while)
3. Once you find the perfect outfit ideas start crying because the cost of outfitting your family will cost more than the pictures.
4. Give up on those awesome outfit ideas you found on Pinterest and pick a color scheme.
5. For the 3 millionth time listen to the teens complain about getting family pictures taken.
6. Listen or pretend to listen to the teens complain about the color scheme you chose.
7. Pray to every know deity in the universe in hopes that one of them hears your pleas for no rain and temps not in the 30’s.
8. Figure out how to cover up the big red bump on your toddler’s head after he hit it on the counter an hour before you leave.
9. Say more prayers that the toddler will do what you want so you have awesome pictures.
10. Threaten all kids on the way to the photo shoot location that bad things will happen if they don’t smile and try to look good.

Now, all that said I think that a nice glass of wine would be perfect just before pictures… it would lower my stress level!

I was surprised how well the session turned out and can’t wait to see the pictures because I have found a few cards from Shutterfly that I want to use for our cards this year.

 old fashioned

I like this one but I’m not 100% sure about the black background…. it doesn’t seem as cheery as other cards. What I like is the old- fashioned looking text and scrolls in the corners.

red toile card

This one I love! I don’t think that there is anything about it that I don’t like and it goes perfectly with the colors that we wore for our family pictures!

So there is always the chance that our pics turned out terrible and I won’t want to put that picture on a card to share with the entire family. So, in that case I have a couple backup choices.

holiday images

deck the halls

I love both of them so it’s possible that I’d just get some of both because I’m sure that deciding will be a challenge.

This year you can get all of your holiday cards and more at Shutterfly and check out some of their special offers. And now I have a special offer for you!

One lucky reader will get an extra $50 off order of $50 or more (excluding tax and shipping & cannot be combined with any other promos (expire 12/14/2012 – no extensions)!!

How do your family pics usually go?

Shutterfly’s Long Live Summer Photo Contest

Summer is a time where we spend countless hours at the beach, splashing in the pool, visiting friends and family, and exploring fun locations near and far and of course we bring along our camera and phones and take tons of pictures. I know that I do…. okay… I’ll be honest with you. I take both my iPhone and my DSLR and take as many pictures as I can so I can remember all the special moments.

At the end of the summer I’m left with a camera full of memories that I now have to figure out how to preserve and lately one of the best ways that I can think of doing that is to create a photo book. I’ve done this several times and love it! My kids like to look through the books and talk about what we were doing and why I used “that” picture (which never fails to be one of them that they don’t like).

This year Shutterfly is running a great promotion! And the best part is that it’s easy to enter using one of those great summer pics that you took!

You can win a trip for four to The Bahamas and a professional photo shoot so you’ll remember your vacation forever (I love the idea of a photographer coming on vacation with us!). All you need to do is upload your favorite photo and caption based on the theme of the week. Get a gift from Shutterfly just for entering! You can enter at any point during the 5-week sweepstakes period.
