GoWallet Review – Get those gift cards organized!

So with the holidays coming up we all need a way to keep those gift cards that we are given organized as well a better way to figure out what the balance is, right? I know that trying to figure out the balance is always a challenge and I usually end up keeping the most receipt wrapped around the gift card. Honestly, that is not the most effective manner of keeping track.

I’ve found one of the best ways to keep track now. GoWallet!

Go Wallet

GoWallet is an app for your iPhone or Android where gift cards can be registered, allowing you to:

  • Easily manage multiple cards in one place
  • Access real-time gift card balances for supported gift cards
  • Conveniently access your gift card information on the go
  • Receive promotional offers
  • Purchase gift cards

This app has made it so easy for me lately for the few gift cards that I do have that I can’t wait to add more to it during the holidays! The first thing that you need to do after downloading the app is to create an account and then start adding your gift cards to the app by scanning the card or inputting it manually. Really it takes just a few minutes to do it manually and you can update it easily after that.

Go Wallet  Go Wallet
Once you have it all set up you you can start shopping! For most of the stores you don’t even need the actual card… but don’t get rid of them since there are some that do require it. As you use the card you can update the value of the card too by simple pressing the arrows in a circle icon.

Go Wallet

The GoWallet app will tell you how many cards you have, the balance of the cards, and a total of all of them combined.

Go Wallet

GoWallet has the added feature of allowing you to buy gift cards from major retailers, restaurants, and other service providers right through the app. When you purchase one you can either add it to your GoWallet account, email it to a friend, or send it to someone via Facebook. Sending gift cards to friends and family across the country or world just got a whole lot easier!

Tell me…. how do you keep track of all the gift cards that you and your family gets at the holiday?

Disclosure: I was provided a gift card in return for my review of the app. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Better than window shopping!

I love shopping and finding great deals but I have found something that is better than window shopping! Have you heard of Modnique? It’s a deal website that offers some incredible brands like Chanel, Tory Burch, Hermes, and so many more up scale brands. You know… the brands that we window shop for because the price tags are usually high.

modnique

With Modnique the prices are up to 85% off and new merchandise arrives daily and is featured in 36-72 hour events. Right now they’re having a great promotion going on… 20 Days of Deals! These items go super fast too! I was stalking an iPad mini going for $99 and wasn’t able to grab one. 🙁 The new deals are revealed at 6am PST every day and you can keep track of the new deals by checking out their blog or Facebook page daily.

I have spent a great deal of time on the site looking for some Christmas gifts but then I was sidetracked and found myself with half a dozen tabs open of things that I wanted for myself!

Like this coat…

Or these two things…

Modnique perfume Modnique necklace
The prices on all of these are really affordable too! The Burberry perfume is only $29 after a 60% discount!.Well, maybe the necklace is still pretty expensive (only $1889 after a 54% discount) but it is gorgeous, isn’t it?

I will say that finding the right item can be like a little treasure hunt. Sometimes the item you want is already in someones basket or they don’t have it in your size, but with the variety that they have I’m sure that it won’t take you long to find something that you absolutely love. This is how it works; you pick something that you want, click to add it to your cart, and then you have a limited time to purchase it or it goes back on the virtual sales floor, giving some one else the chance to buy it.  You get a little countdown clock to help you keep track which makes it easy for you.

So if you can’t find me today it’s because I’m doing a little window shopping for things that I don’t really need but really, really want! Like the blue boots that I found by Marc Jacobs…. or the Hermes shoulder bag.

This review is part of a Splash Creative Media campaign on behalf of Modnique.com and I have received a gift certificate for the purposes of this review. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Back to school shopping with Cookie’s Kids

Just in case you didn’t know it’s almost time to head back to school or your kids are already back in school. Either way kids are going to need new clothes whether they’re regular street clothes or uniforms.

Back to school shopping is not one of my favorite things to do especially with three girls who have definite opinions about what they like and what they don’t like. Honestly, if they just wore school uniforms I’d be all set but since they don’t we’ve been to the stores a few times checking out all the new kids styles & new fashions for the fall and winter season.

With the internet and online shopping things are a lot easier! This year I went to Cookie’s Kids and meandered through their website at all the cute clothes they have and was wondering how I could get all the things I wanted without breaking the bank.

One of the things that I love about online shopping is the chat support that so many companies are starting to use. It’s great… I can ask any question I have and get an answer right away. It’s just like having a sales associate there without being pushy!

And I had questions to ask…. a couple of them as a matter of fact. But the problem is that the chat support was never on and I came back more than once to check. So I proceeded with my order sort of blindly and hoped that what I was buying would work.

They had everything from uniforms, kids clothes, shoes, and the thing I was most happy to see… suits for little boys! We have a wedding coming up this fall and my son is going to need something to wear! I will be going back for sure to check them out more.

I love these shoes! And I ordered them for my son in the 9 toddler size thinking he wears an 8 right now and by time fall/winter rolls around these will probably fit him. Boy.. was I wrong! He won’t be wearing these for a couple years! He loves them though!

trying on the loafers

Since Andrew isn’t heading to school I made sure that I got a few things for his sister. It seems that every time I turn around that girl has grown!

Lauren & her awesome sweater

When I gave Lauren her sweater she immediately had to try it on and then went on and on about all the different things that she can wear with it! She had two or three outfits planned out around the sweater.

Of course being the practical mom I am I had to find a jacket that she could wear this fall because the one from last year is way to small.

showing off the new jacket

She loved it! I was really happy about that because I picked the jacket out without her input!

Ordering and checking out at #CookiesKids was just as easy as it was with any other site and the best part of it all was that my order qualified for a free $25 restaurants.com gift card! Score! Cute clothes for the kids and dinner for mom and dad!

Want to know more about Cookie’s Kids?

In 1972, a young man named Cookie and his brother Marvin went into business together. They rented a 1600 square foot store in Jamaica, Queens, fixed it up, bought inventory and Summer and Fall, and opened a day after Thanksgiving with a full stock of holiday toys. The toys were a success and they put the extra money toward buying children’s clothing for the next season. When that did well, they bought more clothing. The business was on it’s way.

As the brothers Cookie, Marvin and Sonny, who had come in as a third partner in the business, began to open new stores in new locations, inventory expanded. Besides the latest fashions, our customers wanted shoes, toys, backpacks and accessories and we were prepared to deliver.

By the late 1990’s there were six superstores throughout the NYC area, and though they previously had different names, by that time they were all named Cookie’s Kids. Also in the late ’90s came an important addition to Cookie’s Kids’ inventory: school uniforms. It was the steady success in uniform sales that paved the way for founding CookiesKids.com in 2007, which originally sold uniforms and soon after the entire Cookie’s Kids Inventory.

You can check out Cookie’s Kids on Facebook & Twitter! If you want to see more of my shopping trip you can check out my Google+ album and the cute outfits I created on Polyvore!
