Socialpunk cover

Wonder what the Socialpunk book is all about? Here’s a brief description.

Ima would give anything to escape The Dome and learn what’s beyond its barriers, but the Chicago government has kept all its citizens on lockdown ever since the Scorched Years left most of the world a desert wasteland. When a mysterious group of hooded figures enters the city unexpectedly, Ima uncovers a plot to destroy The Dome and is given the choice between escaping to a new, dangerous city or staying behind and fighting a battle she can never win.

Now, do you want to know what I think about it?

I  loved it! I’ll be honest with you though. When I first read the initial description and saw the cover of the book I wasn’t so sure that I was going to like it. I know… I know… never judge a book by it’s cover, but it’s a terrible habit that I have. Once I started the book I couldn’t put it down and was totally drawn in by the characters and found myself identifying with the main character Ima.

Ima never felt that things were quite right where she lived inside The Dome with an abusive father and mother who didn’t do much to stop it. She quickly learned that she was right and there was more to the world than she knew. I don’t want to give to much away because you should read it for yourself… you’ll enjoy it. It’s futuristic, “cyberpunk”, sci-fi type novel that is a fast read (less than 300 pages)…. I finished it in a day with constant interruptions from my 2 year old.
